At the time of donation the only soldier identified in this image was Private Alfred Frank Elliot.(rear row - right), who had previously served in one of the Wiltshire Battalions in the 1st World War. However following publication in the Wiltshire Family History Society Magazine in 2010 William "Charlie" Fowler (rear row - third from left) was identified by his daughter. He lived in St Paul's Road, and served in the Home Guard between shifts in a factory making Spitfires. It is believed that the fourth man in the second row is Hedley Davis, with Charlie Durrant to his left.
