99th Regiment - A sepia portrait photograph of Captain George Clayton in civilian clothes. He served with the Regiment from 1857 to 1863. After leaving the Regiment he was later killed with General Gordon?s force in 1864 in China.

1st/4th Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A photocopy of a black and white photograph of 2nd Lieutenant Norman Clayton. He was the son of the late William and Clara Clayton, of Hapton, Burnley; husband of Peggy Clayton, of 22, Winsley Rd., Colchester. He was killed in action on the 23rd July 1916, age 29. He has no known grave and is commemorated on the Thiepval memorial to the missing in France

It is believed this photograph was taken on the occasion of the Commanding Officer Colonel Ingall?s end of command, having commanded the Regiment from 1856. He fought with the Regiment at Ferozeshah and in the Crimea.
