2nd Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A sepia photograph of Private William Cherrill in India before the 1st World War. He displays a long service stripe on his left lower arm (3 Years) and the cross rifles indicating he was a marksman. It is believed this was taken about 1910. He was later awarded the Delhi Durbar Medal, fought in the Great War where he was wounded.

2nd Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment ? A colour photograph of a family commemorative plaque for Private William Cherrill who served in India before the 1st World Wa. He was awarded the Delhi Durbar Medal in 1911 and the campaign medals for the 1st World War. The plaque also includes his Silver War Badge indicating that he had been wounded. [The medals remain in private hands]
