99th Regiment - A sepia portrait photograph of Captain Charles Burton. He joined the Regiment in 1855 and he took part in the China Campaign of 1860. After the campaign he was sent with his company from Hong Kong to Shanghai where they fought the Taiping rebels in the assault on the rebel camp at Tserpoo on the 17th April 1862. He retired in 1869. His picture also appears on page 27 of the photographic book The Wiltshire Regiment 1756-1914. Photographer: R Patterson, Preston, Lancashire

66th Regiment - A photocopy of a print of Doctor Francis Burton , the military surgeon to the 66th Regiment. He was the actual creator of Napoleon's death mask. He studied medicine in Dublin entering army service in 1805 aged twenty-one. He also served during the Peninsular Campaign. In 1813 he was promoted to be surgeon to the 4th Regiment of Foot. In 1819, he was promoted surgeon to the 66th arriving at St. Helena on March 31, 1821. He was present at Napoleon's autopsy.
