1st Bn, Duke of Edinburgh?s Royal Regiment - A black and white photograph (Copyright), dating from the period 1963 to 1965, showing soldiers from ?B? and ?C? companies at Mellieha Bay, Malta, having been landed from the LST (Landing Ship Tank) HMS Striker during exercise 'Run Ashore'. The soldier in the centre is carrying a 3.5 rocket launcher, for use against tanks. Left of the photo is Private Mike ?James? Bond who had a twin brother in the Battalion. Shortly after arriving in Malta, the Battalion took part in this exercise
