2nd/ 1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - Memoirs and biographical notes concerning Major Richard Rhodes- James, Major Bruce Kinloch and John Hill who was "B" Company Commander in the Battalion. Entitled 'The Burma War- 50 Years On (An Infantry Soldier Returns- 4th to 18th April 1995)' the document is part of notes made by John Hill (ex 2nd Bn Royal Berkshire Regiment) for a BBC documentary. It describes the conditions in Burma in 1945 and the trip made back to Burma 50 year later (in 1995). Also included is a map of Burma.
99th Regiment - A copy of the discharge document for Private 690 James Hill. He enlisted on the 6th July 1831 and was discharged on the 27th September 1853. During his service he served in Mauritius and Australia.
1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A 'parchment' certificate of Proficiency in the duties of a Pioneer Sergeant awarded to L/Corporal C.W. Hillier. He was deemed proficent in "Building Construction and Drawing, Military Engineering and General Qualifications." the certificate is dated 29th March, 1910.
1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A letter, accompanying the 1914 Star Medal Clasp sent to the 'next of kin' of L/Corporal C. W. Hillier. The letter is dated 9 March, 1921 and addressed to Mrs L Hillier of Bradfield in Berkshire

2nd/4th Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A photocopy of the attestation record for 2233 Private Arthur Sidney Hillman. He enlisted into the 4th Battalion in May 1914, was in the 2nd/4th after the Battalion was split in two in October 1914, remaining in it stationed in Poona until early 1918 when he transferred to the Machine Gun Corps and was posted to France; he survived the War.
Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire Regiment - (Royal Rifle Volunteers) - A newspaper report(Copyright) relating to a widow's problems with the local Parish Council in Brockworth. Her husband Marc Hill had served in Iraq with the Royal Gloucestershire, Berkshire and Wiltshire element of the Royal Rifle Volunteers. The heart attack in 2004 that lead to his death was attributed to his service in Iraq.
4th/6th Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A special order of the day by Lieutenant Colonel L J L Hill MC on the occasion of the awarding of the Freedom of Entry into the Borough of Maidenhead on Saturday 2nd May 1959. This document lists by name rank all those who took part in the parade.
Royal Rifle Volunteers - A newspaper cutting dating from 2004 (Copyright) headed ?Iraq war hero in holiday tragedy?. It relates to the death on holiday of Corporal Mark Hill. He had previously served with the unit in Iraq and was badged as part of the RGBW element within the Royal Rifle Volunteers.

5th Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A typed copy of letters written and sent home by Sergeant 3/9998 William G. Hill concernng his time in Gallipoli and Mesopotamia. He was originally in the 2nd Battalion with whom he was wounded. After recovering, he joined the 5th Battalion. In the letters he describes the conditions he suffered extremely clearly.
2nd Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - A digital (PDF) image of the citation for the award of an immediate MC (Military Cross) to Captain (acting Major) 77668 John Lindsay Hill for his actions in Burma during the 2nd World War.
