1st Bn, Royal Berkshire Regiment - An original signal form (Army Form 136) originating from Lieutenant Ellis informing his commander that his patrol had captured a Shifta Rebel, plus he had wounded a civilian in the leg. Lieutenant J P Ellis was later killed in action on the 9th March 1951 and was buried in Asmara Civil (St Michele) Cemetery, Eritrea (Plot C Row 1, Grave 2). He was killed in an action against the Shifta Rebels. [The message is not dated but believed to have been sent in 1951]
