5th Bn, Wiltshire Regiment - A typed copy of the records and diaries of Sergeant 26121Stephen Acland Gough. Although initially posted to the 5th Battalion, he remained on base clerical duties in Basra, Mesopotamia from 1916 to 1919. It contains thirty seven images, some taken by Sergeant Gough. He was mentioned in dispatches twice and later awarded the Meritorious Service Medal. This item is fully indexed and gives an excellent account of service behind the lines. It lists Private 26121 Stephen Acland Gough and Private 21142 A Chandler, both of the 5th Batalion of the Wiltshire Regimentt as being entitled to extra pay. It is dated 20th January 1917.
