THE SOCIETY OF FRIENDS OF THE RIFLES BERKSHIRE AND WILTSHIRE MUSEUM
The Society of Friends (SoF) of the Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum has been established since 1984, and the current chairman, Nigel Walker, invites you to become one of its new members, to join many others who have generously given time and benevolence to the Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum since then. The SoF, also known as the Redcoats Society, is a registered charity with the Charity Commission and exists solely to support and raise funds for the Museum, so that a number of projects, activities and improvements can be undertaken.
Many of the SoF members are former serving officers and soldiers of the Regiment, but there are others from across the spectrum of society, particularly from Berkshire and Wiltshire, who support the work of the Museum through their membership and association. Events and presentation evenings take place each year, as well as the occasional fundraising event, and the SoF holds its AGM in the middle of June.
The benefits of joining the Redcoats Society are:
- Free entry to the Rifles Berkshire and Wiltshire Museum and gardens at Salisbury and also to the Soldiers of Gloucestershire Museum, which is located in the old docks in Gloucester.
- Attendance at Redcoats Society events free of charge.
- Receipt free of charge, of the annual publications Redcoats Review and Redcoats Newsletter via email.
Redcoats Society activities, news, publications and general information can be viewed on this website under the scroll down bar “Museum” and then “Friends Events” at the top of the page.
